Accreditation for Cardiovascular Excellence recently announced the release of its newly updated, openly available standards for the cardiac catheterization laboratory—standards crucial to quality delivery of cardiac Cath/PCI services in all environments. The update includes brand-new standards crucial to the provision of safe, quality cardiovascular services to patients in Ambulatory Surgery Centers (ASCs), as well as integrating the latest guidance on Cardiogenic Shock as new standards across all environments. ACE Updates Cath/PCI Standards for 2020 with Guidance for Ambulatory Surgery Centers
Accreditation for Cardiovascular Excellence is announcing the release of its newly updated, openly available and transparently developed quality standards for the cardiac catheterization laboratory. These are standards crucial to quality delivery of cardiac Cath/PCI services, especially in environments where patients needing additional care must be transferred to another facility, such as Ambulatory Surgery Centers (ASCs). These new standards along with ACE accreditation can be utilized to ensure ASCs meet environmental, procedural, minimum volume and appropriate use criteria to provide efficient, quality and safe care for patients. ACE Mourns the Loss of Chairman Charles Chambers, MD
Charles Chambers, MD and Chairman of Accreditation for Cardiovascular Excellence, passed away on June 9. Dr. Chambers is survived by his wife, three children and three grandchildren. Dr. Chambers contributed immensely to ACE since its inception, and his dedicated leadership will be sorely missed.

Accreditation for Cardiovascular Excellence was awarded 3rd place in the American College of Cardiology's 2019 Quality Summit poster competition. Our poster focused on the common elements of Quality Improvement & Corrective Action Plans for institutions seeking ACE accreditation. The poster analyzed what methods for improvement were most prevalent, and most successful at institutions achieving ACE accreditation, weighing these methods against the relevant specific ACE accreditation Standards.
