Changes in practice initiated from the ACE review continue to keep the cardiac cath lab (CCL) at Spectrum Health ahead of the curve. "The accreditation documents have become a roadmap for us," said Dr. Wohns. "This is a living process; our interaction with ACE is ongoing as we continue to make changes. The changes required to become competitive involve lean processes." Examining data on stent rates, FFR use and Appropriate Use Criteria (AUC), Dr. Wohns noted that the ACE program resulted in "improved collaboration at all levels" and that "ACE accreditation is ultimately about patient care and quality."
