What’s different about ACE Accreditation?
ACE Accreditation offers unique in-depth services not included in other types of accreditation programs.
- Angiographic Review of 10% of your CCL’s films (or minimum 10 cases per PCI operator)
- Site visits from ACE’s cardiology team (1-2 days)
- Randomly selected chart audits of every operator along with angiographic reviews.
Also included is review of all materials, interviews, and ongoing monitoring--as determined by the Accreditation type and facility compliance. When a facility provides outlier outcomes data, ACE may determine that an onsite physician visit is necessary. Onsite physician visits require additional fees.
Throughout the Accreditation cycle (2 or 3 years), ACE provides ongoing CQI review follow-up consultations, site visits when appropriate (i.e., in the event of personnel changes, new procedure implementation, process change, or sentinel event), as well as continued monitoring, review and modification of improvement goals and milestones and completion of an annual online survey.
Re-Accreditation services from ACE are streamlined vs. the original Accreditation, but include site visits, chart audits, angiographic review, and a report of findings outlining areas for improvement.
How long does ACE Accreditation last?
The cycle of ACE Cath/PCI and CAS Accreditation is two years, a time frame that ACE institutional advisors have determined optimal due to the dynamic and dramatic changes that are occurring in the cath lab arena. Following that period, labs are encouraged to seek Re-Accreditation, available at a reduced cost. Re-Accreditation for Cath/PCI and CAS is also valid for two years. In most cases, a lab initially receives ‘Provisional Accreditation’, followed by Full Accreditation, once these standards have been met. The Accreditation “clock” starts only when final accreditation is awarded.
ACE Diagnostic Cath Accreditation is valid for a period of three years.
