ACE Invited to Present a Special Session for Cardiac Care Associates at the 18th Annual Meeting of the Indiana Chapter of the American College of Cardiology

Accreditation for Cardiovascular Excellence (ACE) shares tools for quality team-based care

Washington, DC (PRWEB) September 30, 2014

Reflecting the importance of team-based care in the cardiac catheterization lab, the Indiana Chapter of the American College of Cardiology (ACC) has announced a special session for cardiac care associates during its 18th Annual Meeting on October 18, 2014. Sheree Schroeder, MSN, RN, RDCS, FASE, ACE’s Director of Quality Review Services, has been invited to lead this session designed to empower cardiac care associates toward improved cardiovascular care.

“Whether catheterization labs are based at a major medical center or a local community hospital, all cardiac care associates share the same goal of delivering quality patient care,” Ms. Schroeder said. “Before many cath labs can achieve this goal, there continues to be a need for basic standardization of quality programs.” In her presentation, Ms. Schroeder will provide practical tools that cardiac care associates can implement to ensure high quality, cost-effective, individualized care in the cardiac catheterization lab.

Partnering with ACE for accreditation and external quality review services is an effective strategy to implement rigorous quality programs.

Ms. Schroeder will also discuss ACE’s newest standards for Peripheral Vascular accreditation, scheduled for release this November, as well as Pediatric/Congenital, Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR), and Electrophysiology (EP) accreditation standards scheduled for release in 2015. ACE currently offers accreditation services for Cath/PCI, Diagnostic Catheterization, and Carotid Artery Stenting.

“With these new accreditation services, ACE will be able to partner with the cardiac care team to ensure optimal patient outcomes for all of your invasive cardiovascular procedures,” Ms. Schroeder said.

The Indiana Chapter-ACC Annual Meeting will be held at the Indianapolis Marriott Downtown in Indianapolis, Indiana, on October 18, 2014. The special session for cardiac care associates will be held from 10:00-10:30 am. Meeting registration details, including the full meeting agenda and a meeting app, is available online: http://www.inacc.org/id21.html.
